GJT Celebrates Completion of New Customer Parking Lot
Just in time for the holiday travel season, the Grand Junction Regional Airport (GJT) is excited to announce the completion and opening of its new south parking lot, adding more than 300 new spaces. With this expansion, GJT now offers over 1,200 total parking spots, giving travelers even more convenient options during one of the busiest times of the year.
As GJT continues to experience strong passenger growth, with load factors reaching 83%, the need for expanded and convenient parking has become increasingly important. The new south lot enhances capacity while maintaining GJT’s reputation for easy travel, short walking distances, and quick access to the terminal.
To make travel even easier, the first two hours of parking remain free, providing a stress-free option for dropping off or picking up family and friends. Daily maximum pricing also remains unchanged at $14 per day, ensuring travelers benefit from the increased capacity without any increase in cost.
“This project is an investment in our passengers,” said Angela Padalecki, Executive Director of the Grand Junction Regional Airport. “We’re focused on making travel from Grand Junction as easy and efficient as possible. The parking lot expansion is just one of several improvements we’re making to enhance the overall guest experience.”
With this phase now complete, GJT is already looking ahead. The next phase of parking improvements, planned for next year, will include the addition of close, covered parking with electric vehicle chargers and enough solar panels to power the terminal, as part of the airport’s long-term commitment to convenience, sustainability, and modern passenger amenities.
Construction wrapped up ahead of the Thanksgiving travel rush, allowing passengers to immediately take advantage of the new lot for holiday and winter travel. Travelers are encouraged to arrive early, enjoy the added convenience, and start their journey the easy way: Fly GJT.
